Romanza Strings
Romanza Strings is available for all your wedding ceremony music needs. We also play for cocktail hours, dinner music, etc... We are a string trio consisting of violin, viola and cello. Following are some frequently asked questions and more information regarding booking your next event. Please feel free to contact us via phone or email, and please visit our website at www.romanzastrings.org
Of what does a “typical” wedding ceremony consist?
Typically, we will arrive for the ceremony early (before your guests arrive) to set up, and will play prelude music for your guests to enjoy as they arrive at the ceremony. We then play the processional for the bridal party and the bride. Very often we will also play a selection during the ceremony—either for the lighting of the Unity Candle, or a special interlude. At the end of the ceremony, we then play a recessional, and finish with postlude music for your guests to exit by. We expect a typical wedding ceremony to last from 1 to 1 1/2 hours, including prelude, ceremony and postlude.
How far in advance should I book your services?
As musicians, we often have many other commitments, so we prefer to book our services six months in advance. We are capable of playing at a moments notice however. Sometimes it is too early to book our services, but never too late! We often have last minute requests to replace a group that is unable to fulfill its commitment. Please give us a call to reserve your date at 320.491.1556
What kind of music do you play?
We generally play classical music. Please visit our website
www.romanzastrings.org to view our repertoire and to hear samples of our music. Personal requests are considered if music is available.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, a small, non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required on return of the contract. The balance is due on or before the date of services. Most people prefer to mail a check ahead of time so as not to worry about remembering it on the date of services. Otherwise you can pay the balance, minus the deposit on the day of the event. We just ask that payment be made before services begin.
Who decides what music is played, and when?
You can have as much or as little to do with the decision making process as you like. Often we are requested to make the decision ourselves, as musicians. Other clients will give us guidelines as to what they would like included (or NOT included!) at the event. We will be happy to discuss this with you personally.
Do you play for outdoor weddings and events?
Yes, they are taken on a “weather permitting” basis. We must have adequate protection from direct sunlight and rain, as our instruments would suffer damage.
What do you charge for weddings and special events?
Typical wedding ceremony: $375.00
Receptions and other events: $375.00 for the first hour, $150.00 for each additional hour.
Additional mileage will apply if outside our normal travel range.
