Ernest Gulner is the first and the only officiant we needed to meet. If you are looking for an open-minded, knowledgeable and extremely polite officiant, Ernie is the one to go to. So far we have seen him at four Minnesota weddings, and that is only with in the last half a year since we had our wedding in November 2010. Thank you Ernie, for making our ceremony a perfect one.

We actually didn't use Simply Vows for our wedding, but we tried to. My fiance was in charge of getting an officiant. When he told me about Ernie, he was really excited and I was excited too -- everything sounded great. When I talked to Ernie on the phone, he was agreeable to my suggestion for a contract, even though he said he doesn't usually use contracts, because he knew that I was a law student and my dad's a lawyer so contracts are a requirement for us. I asked about a deposit, and he said that once we were in his appointment book -- which we were -- our date was set with him. My dad drafted a contract, and while it was long (standard form) there was nothing negative in it. I read every word. A couple weeks later, my parents told me they had received a letter form Ernie refusing to sign the contract. When my fiance called Ernie to talk about this, he basically threw out some philosophical excuse and then told us that he had already booked someone else for our date... without telling us. If you're okay with an officiant who says he will agree to a contract, then doesn't, and then books someone else on your date without telling you, this is the one for you. Otherwise, keep looking.

Ernie did a great job with our wedding. We meet with him about two weeks before the wedding. He picked up on what we liked and put together a wonderful ceremony that we both enjoyed.

I wish there was a 10-star option! Mr. Gulner was far beyond what I could ever have asked for in an officiant. He conducted our ceremony in such a personalized, eloquent, and elegant manner. So many of our guests commented that it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever witnessed & commented on how fantastic he was. This is not someone who uses a cookie cutter script, he really puts time and energy into his ceremonies and makes sure it's tailored to fit you as a couple. Highly recommend!

Simply AMAZING! Our entire ceremony was written specifically for us and I couldn't imagine it turning out more beautiful or perfect. After the ceremony was over, we were sent a written copy of it. The day itself is such a blur to me that I don't even remember the words I said as my vows- so it's truly special to look back and be able to read what my husband and I said to one another. But more than the vows- the entire ceremony was nothing short of perfect and I credit (and thank) our officiant for that!
