Mintahoe Catering & Events

The food was great. The staff was amazing. They provided all of the linens, plates, flatware for the wedding! They also helped set up and clean up table decorations. Very happy to have worked with this caterer.

Catering and reception (i.e. not the ceremony) was at Nicollet Island Pavilion (Minneapolis), catered by Mintahoe. We worked with Erika who was on top of every detail! She helped us plan food accordingly, coordinate with other vendors, answered ALL our questions in a VERY timely manner, and followed through with everything we discussed. She was outstanding to work with, personable and professional. She made the entire evening one to remember forever. The food, by Mintahoe, was excellent, delivered HOT and to everyone at the same time (we did employ extra staff for this to happen, and they did a great job). Also, the desserts were the talk of the evening! We easily could have gotten the wedding cake through them as well, but had, earlier, seen a cake design that we'd fallen in love with at another bakery. However, their cakes (we'd had at the taste-testing) were very good as well. (The only surprise we had was our first taste testing-of main courses and appetizers- where we found the food to be very disappointing. We almost changed venues, but they re-did it for us, with emphasis on presentation as well. We were SO pleased the second time, and trying all the desserts was an experience in itself!! I DO think they should have their food tasting AT the venues where they will be served, and plated to show presentation rather than samples on separate plates.)

Julie bends over backwards to make sure everything is in place. The staff arrived with ample time to set up and put me, bride, at ease. Also, the tasting was free and open to my fiance, mom and mother-in-law to be.

Catering and reception was at Nicollet Island Pavilion (Minneapolis), catered by Mintahoe. We worked with Erika as she was my shadow through the whole process. Working in the event industry I was worried that everything would go according to plan. Erika and team was on top of it and one step ahead. They worked with us to make our dream come alive and I will always be thankful for that. Everyone had a awesome time and is still talking about it. The food was one of the top 5 items that we wanted to stick out and everyone went up for seconds and thirds. Hot, delicious, and very well presented. The venue is extremely beautiful and continued to get more beautiful as the night went on. The staff was so nice and friendly throughout the whole night and catered to our every need. Erika really looked after us the day of the wedding, kept us calm and relaxed while she helped us throught the process and made sure it went according to plan. Was concerned about the security being there, especially with my group, but dont be. Didnt even noticed they were there and they were very nice (the bride actually didnt even notice them at all) and everything was awesome. We were on a pretty tight budget and had alot we wanted to put in, but thanks to Erika and her knowledge of what will work, everyone will love, and love for what she does she made all our dreams come to life. Thank you Minathoe, and thank you very much Erika.

From the start our experience with Mintahoe and Nicollet Island Pavilion was wonderful. We had the amazing luck to be able to work with Erika and from start to finish she was beyond fantastic. Any questions we had were answered any special requests we made were met and anytime I felt even the slightest bit overwhelmed Erika knew just what to do to help! When it came to our actual wedding day Erika and the staff at the Nicollet Island Pavilion took care of every little detail so we had nothing to worry or stress about, everything was done before we even had to ask and we cannot thank them enough for everything! On top of everything else our guests had a wonderful time and are still raving about the food, the venue and the wonderful service!

We really cannot say enough good about Mintahoe and the experience we had with their catering services for our wedding last week! From start to finish, they were the picture of friendly professionalism that was clearly lacking with the other companies we'd investigated. We had a fairly small, fairly informal menu (burgers, dogs, etc.) but we were treated like their most important client from the beginning. Mintahoe was flexible with putting together the menu we wanted at the price points we could afford and took time to make helpful suggestions at our DIY attitude and picnic style approach to the wedding. At no time were we made to feel like we "weren't doing it right" or that there were any unreasonable requests. They also made recommendations for a DJ and flowers that turned out wonderfully. And just when we thought that we couldn't be any happier, they jumped in spur of the moment to help out the day of when the bartenders didn't show up. They were gracious and helpful and smoothed out what could have been a very difficult situation. I'd also be happy to provide further information or recommendation to anyone at any time. People often joke about "rubber chicken" at weddings, but we had amazing pesto chicken, and a prime rib option, and Mintahoe was wonderful!

Food and service were great!

I had people raving about my food all night!! We had stations and EVERYONE loved the idea of trying different things. The pulled pork sandwiches are a MUST, along with the mashed potato bar and the chicken and shrimp skewers. Joy was my caterer and was the sweetest woman!! She listened to ALL of my needs and was not pushy at all. She was very realistic with my budget and helped me save money!!

Mintahoe was amazing. We had a few guests with strict diet limitations and it was no problem at all having special meals for them. It made many people happy and Joy made things really easy for me.

We had our reception at Nicollet Island Pavilion in June 2010. The wedding coordinator (Nicole) was extremely responsible and professional throughout the entire process. Given that my husband and I live out-of-state, Nicole was very flexible in allowing us to a lot of the planning work remotely. She always answered emails quickly - usually within minutes! Due to all of Nicole's hard work, the wedding day itself went very smoothly. We had a great time!In general, Nicollet Island is a beautiful, very well-run venue. Our only complaints were that the food was not quite as good as some other places we tried (although the view at NIP definitely makes up for it) and there are a lot of small fees associated with NIP (for example, upgrading to glassware all night instead of switching to plastic after the cocktail hour is an additional fee).All in all, we were very satisfied with our experience at NIP and would highly recommend it to others!

We chose to have our wedding and reception at the Minnesota Boat Club because of the location as well as it being a smaller and more intimate venue. (It is a beautiful historic building on its own little island) In turn, this brought us to work with Mintahoe Catering. It was a pleasure working with Jenni, and we were very impressed with the professionalism and care that everyone took leading up to, as well as on our wedding day. Everyone was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. It just so happened that Irish Fest was going to take place on at Harriet Island the same weekend as our wedding, we were helped with finding parking as well as other vendors to help us make our day complete! We couldn't have been happier and I would recommend this site as well as Mintahoe Catering anytime!

They are absolutley wonderful and made sure they were making our day perfect!

It's a beautiful venue, so centrally located in a historic part of town. The service was premium and the event coordianator was cordial and present. It was more on the spendy side, but it was great to have a "one stop shop" (ceremony and reception) location, the guests loved it. You definetly get the whole nine yards with this venue.

Although I got sick halfway through the ceremony and therefore missed the food at the reception (stomach flu ripped through the family before and after the wedding), I was assured that the food was delicious and it was so pretty. I loved working with Lisa the Mintahoe catering liason at the Van Dusen Mansion and she made everything easy for me. It was very spendy, but I felt it was worth it. The only quibble I heard from my guests was that the fruit platter was not stocked enough for the number of people (and about 10 people did not show that had RSVP'd yes) and it was not restocked. However everything else was delicious and plentiful.

Having great food at a wedding is usually something most people do not expect. Wrong, not with Mintahoe, from the initial food tasting to the actual wedding meal, the food was incredible!! All food was presented very professionally and was delicious! After a long and very busy day, it was wonderful to sit down with all of our guests and enjoy food that was a delight to the palate! Our venue, the Van Dusen Mansion, uses Mintahoe exclusively and we now know why, they are simply, the best.

Overall my experience with Mintahoe was fantastic. I initially had a bit of trouble reaching someone (but that was mainly due to some transitions taking place with my venue). I ended up working with Julie T, and she was just AMAZING. The food was fantastic, everyone raved about it, and the event captains/wait staff were great the night of the wedding.

I enjoyed working with Mintahoe. They were very responsive, even as I was constantly tweaking my menu. Our catering coordinator was changed in the middle of planning, but the new coordinator picked up our wedding without missing a beat. The value was good for food and alcohol and the waitstaff was very professional. The food was ok, not stellar, but good. I would recommend them.

We checked out Mintahoe after my aunt raved about a wedding she'd attended that they'd catered. This was the only caterer we visited, and we were so pleased with the price and selection that we made our choice instantly. We didn't want a buffet but also didn't want the formality of a plated dinner, and Mintahoe was one of the very few caterers who offered family style service. We chose an Italian-style family feast from the menu, and were able to make small changes to it based on our preferences. Our tasting was unbelieveable - go hungry! We thought we'd be sampling each course. Instead we were seated at a beautifully made-up table and served huge portions of everything, with plenty to take home. Everyone got plenty to eat (something I worried about with a big Wisconsin family!), everyone enjoyed the variety, and the service was efficient and professional. I recommend Mintahoe as a great value.

Mintahoe was our designated drink vendor at our venue and although we had the choice to use a different vendor for catering, we decided to use them for our food as well. We selected our menu and had a tasting and honestly, the first tasting wasn't so great. Although, I have to admit, I haven't been to a wedding where the dinner was 'amazing' ever, but we decided to re-evaluate our menu selections. Our catering contact (Jenni) was totally understanding and responsive to the fact that our first tasting didn't go very well and they totally made up for it moving forward!We were able to completely change our menu and come back in for a second tasting to make sure we were happier with our selections.We worked off of their late night menu for the dinner and had a buffet of tacos, mini sandwiches and a meat/cheese table with olive oil...it was AWESOME! Our guests loved everything (so did we!!) and we are so happy that despite the little hiccup early in our food planning, Mintahoe was totally flexible and willing to work with us to give us a better experience. Trying to figure out the food for a wedding isn't easy, so I think it should be expected to have some minor questions/issues at first...I just want to say that Mintahoe was extremely professional and they went above and beyond before and DURING our wedding reception. The staff was friendly and efficient, the bartenders were approachable and awesome to our different ages of guests and we're just very happy that things worked out the way they did.I definitely recommend working with them for your wedding or other big event - they're professional, flexible and respectful and the food was great (and so were the drinks!) :)Cheers!
