I had to cancel our reservation that I made in Jan 2011 due to the new coordinator, Toni, not responding to us and giving us inaccurate information. Medina did not inform me of their staffing change that happened sometime between Nov 2011 and Jan 2012; I found out when I tried to email the first coordinator, Janine, and the new one, Toni, responded. After we met with Toni she was to give us our pricing info in one week. Not only did we not hear from her for over 2 weeks but the invoice she printed me said our deposit was less than half of what we paid to reserve the room back in Jan 2011. She never got back to me about that. While at the appointment she tried to upsell me on every option imaginable--the ballroom, plated dinner service, cocktail hour, pipe and drape--the works. I didn't feel like she was listening to me at all. After numerous phone calls and emails I actually stopped by after work to see if she still worked there--she did, but had already left. Mark, a manager, said he'd give her the message to call me. She did call, after 3 days, and let me know she had a family emergency. She said she had sent the pricing info when we requested it (she did not). A few days after that I received the quote, dated current--our deposit day was listed as Saturday when our event was for a Friday and one of the 3 rooms had a reservation date of 1/16/1900. At this point we decided to cut our losses and cancel. When she finally returned my fiance's phone call we did just that. She said everything was cancelled but I'm inclined not to believe her since she didn't ask us to sign anything stating we had cancelled. She did say she would talk to her supervisor regarding our deposit. 2 weeks ago we left another message for her to call us with an update on our deposit. Today my finace reached her on her cell, she stated she was at the hospital and would call him back next week. I immediately called the business directly and was put through to manager Paul's voicemail.
I wouldn't recommend this venue for a wedding reception, maybe a birthday party or any other smaller, less involved gathering. Their food is excellent and every time we've eaten there ther service is great which led me to believe this would be the perfect place to have our reception. I'm not sure what Toni's deal is or why we've had such a hard time getting in touch with her, not to mention the added stress of finding a new location with only 5 months til our wedding with my family having already made travel and lodging arragements. Needless to say I'm not happy with the lack of service and professionalism we've received and really hope we're just that fluke couple that this happened to.

I absolutely had a blast at my reception and everyone commented on how much fun they had as well. My only complaint I guess would be the pricing on some of the items seemed a little steep, but otherwise, the food was absolutely delicious, and the room size was perfect for us. We didn't have to do much decorating because the ceiling was already draped with twinkling lights and toole. It was beautiful. I would recommend this location for a wedding reception to anyone who is looking for someplace with a lot to do and excellent food, not to mention hotels close by. It's a great central location without being in the city. Definitely would go there again....

My husband and I recently got married and had our reception at Medina Entertainment Center. We chose this place because they appeared to be willing to work with us and made these great promises. When it came down to it we had nothing but a headache.
The person we worked with was not very professional when we had problems making statements about people they suggested us to work with such as " I dont really have the greatest relationship with this person" and after many problems including issues hotel rooms that were reserved, food tasting choices, and promises of gift opening rooms... the day before the wedding we found out that after months of being told the problems were solved. Not much had been done. I never expected to be so stressed out the day before my wedding because of the venue rather than nerves. The sollution from Medina less than 24hrs before the wedding was for us to take it upon ourselves and help them out with names etc. Nothing got solved and it affected our guest list, accomidations, and was never even really appoligized for. I would not recomend this place unless you want a huge headache. I think its sad because they had good food and they origionally appeared to be so willing to work with you.

The food not only looked delicious, but it was. The room was exactly what we were told it was going to be. Very friendly staff as well. Even helped clean up our stuff after the reception was over. Missy, the Coordinator at Medina, was FANTASTIC! She was always quick to respond to voice and/or emails. A wealth of knowledge. And we received a gift certificate for the restaurant after our event was over. We are looking forward to visiting again. A+ for Medina.
